As Principal Consultant and CEO of Lybra Consulting, Patrick Nganga brings together extensive experience in sustainability policy and disclosure, climate risk, sustainable finance and organisational implementation.
Through the European Investment Bank’s Greening Financial Systems Technical Assistance Programme, where he serves as Kenya Country Lead, Patrick has worked at both regulatory and institutional levels. His experience includes contributing to the development of the Central Bank of Kenya’s Climate Risk Disclosure Framework and Kenya Green Finance Taxonomy, supporting ESG integration within CBK, and working with Family Bank, ABC Bank, and Equity Bank on practical climate risk integration, disclosure, and green finance frameworks.
Patrick has also played an active role in building Kenya’s sustainability reporting capacity through ICPAK. As a member of its Sustainability and Climate Change Committee, he contributed to the Roadmap for Adoption of IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards in Kenya and sector-specific implementation guidance for banking, insurance and agriculture. As a trainer, he has helped build the capacity of thousands of professionals on IFRS S1 and S2, integrated reporting and sustainability reporting, and serves as a sustainability reporting evaluator for the FiRe Awards.
This combination of policy and framework development, market-wide capacity building and hands-on implementation reflects Patrick’s longstanding contribution to the evolution of sustainability disclosure and sustainable finance in Kenya – from shaping frameworks and building professional capacity to supporting regulators and businesses in putting emerging standards into practice.
