Overview

The Challenge

Kenya’s accounting and finance profession faces a shift that goes well beyond new technical rules: the move to the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards changes what accountants are trained to do and how their work is assessed. ICPAK needed a technical partner who understood both the standards and how to translate them into training that practitioners could use.

Our Approach

Lybra sits inside that transition as ICPAK’s ongoing technical partner, contributing to Kenya’s national IFRS S1/S2 roadmap, delivering standards training, and advising on curricula and CPD programmes to keep the profession aligned with global sustainability reporting requirements.

National Roadmap Input

Technical input to Kenya’s national-level roadmap for the adoption of IFRS S1 and S2.

Training & Delivery

Developed and delivered training sessions on the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.

Curriculum & CPD Advisory

Advised ICPAK on updating training curricula and CPD programmes to keep pace with global reporting requirements.

FiRe Awards Evaluation Support

Supporting the evaluation of sustainability reports submitted for ICPAK’s Financial Reporting (FiRe) Excellence Awards.

It is capacity-building work that shapes how an entire profession prepares for IFRS S1 and S2 in Kenya, not just how one organisation reports.
